rye harbour

In Rye there's a record shop, a book shop, a butchers that makes the most delicious sausages and some good antiques, home-ware & accessories shops. Worthy of special mention are Mccully & Crane positioned on Cinque Ports Street, just a short stroll from the pub, and home to an eclectic mixture of vintage, antiques & homeware, all slung together with impeccably playful style. Opposite McCully & Crane is the newly opened Truffle Cup, a really very sweet (in a totally unpretentious or chocolate boxy way) chilled out coffee bar with delicious home-made cakes and exceptionally good coffee. Then on needles passage which is just off the High Street, there is Laura Oakes gallery. Up the High Street a bit further you have newly opened and super chic Violetta. There's Cafe des Fleurs directly next door to the Ship and full of cupcakes, flowers and gifts, and then there's Wishbarn Antiques just around the corner where you can rummage til your heart's content and be sure to come up with lots of affordable brilliant things you always wanted but didn't know you did, until you got to Wishbarn.
